Usually me taking a long time to finish a book is a bad bad sign. Not so here. This is fantastic in all ways. But I keep needing to stop for a breath (because history was harsh) or I go down wikipedia rabbit holes checking things (which is one of the fun parts of historical fiction...)

If it does not fall apart towards the ending, a really great novel...
