“Did you say, "No, this can't happen to me" Did you rush to the phone to call Was there a voice unkind in the back of your mind Saying maybe you didn't know him at all You didn't know him at all, oh, oh, ya didn't know Ooo didn't know Well, the bells out in the church tower chime Burning clues into this heart of mine Thinking so hard on her soft eyes And the memories, offer signs that it's over Over”

The story has gotten more interesting and there are fewer mistakes in the writing. The scenes that take place in hell or purgatory are weird but they're some of my favorites in the book. They have a very different feel from the rest of the novel. Kind of a surreal feeling.

Interesting pieces, scenes... having trouble picturing how they'll fit together.

Just finished the first Adele installment of the second chapter. I'm going to stop posting updates after every segment after this update because it's disrupting the flow of my reading. I'm still in to the story. I want to withhold final judgment until the end but I'm enjoying this book so far.

to think "I hope the plot takes off soon," and then it did. The author spent Chapter One introducing us to the main characters and then he starts telling the story in Chapter Two. Perfect! And at this point I'm genuinely in to the story. I really enjoyed reading about Samuel's love for Sophie. And I could visualize so much of what he described.

I've just read the first segment (Samuel) of Chapter Two.
CONS OF THE BOOK SO FAR: Writing could often be more crisp. I am occasionally subjected to unnecessary and boring information. There are occasional grammatical mistakes that are distracting. This book needs and deserves an editor.

I just finished Chapter One. Gramble became more entertaining in his second segment. I'm liking the story ok so far. Now that I've presumably met all the main characters, I'm looking forward to the plot taking off.

Adele is a unique character. Her excited speech and forwardness makes it seem like she's all over the place and, yet, her business acumen and her self-control in not calling Samuel back for four days suggest that she is a sharp, calculating, intelligent woman.

I find Samuel more interesting than Gramble so far. And I've been teased with the existence of an exciting backstory to come later.
