I love the cover of this book that includes the first two novels in the series. I'm disappointed to say that in the late 90s, the hurricane that hit Monhegan Island off Maine by the name of Gladys is not true. It did hit the island in the 60s. I love geography, and so I had to look it up! Donna Andrews writes long adventure mysteries. Where does she come up with all the crazy things that happen in these novels?

Well, book 1 was a long read! I am looking forward to a less complicated read in the second novel.

One adventure after another! One wedding after another! What an exhausting novel! I feel like I've been on a tilt-a-wirl! Dizzy! It's definitely not a dull moment's read in this first novel of two!

This book reminds me of my teen years in a small town in the 90s! The main character is a bit older than I was in 1999 when this book was published, but I can still relate to that time period. 😆 The first book in the series is Murder with Peacocks, and I'm almost finished this book & it had nothing to do with Peacocks? Yet.

Donna Andrews is a new mystery writer to me. My mom has read the whole series, something like 20 or more novels in her Meg Langslow series! This is one of her favorite mystery series & author! The novels begin in the mid 1990's so it's refreshing to read back in the days before everyone had cell phones!
