Iraq: this had a lot of potential but just got too convoluted. There were way too many characters. The timeline was unclear and fell flat. But I did like how it incorporated the realities of living in mid-2000’s Baghdad, you could tell the author was drawing on real experiences

tjis book is so fucking good
the different perspectives for each event and how everyone is involved is so good. the frankenstein (omg wow who wouldve guessed) elements are so good i love hadi going to sleep just to have the corpse gone. the explanation of how the corpse was reanimated and hasibs ghostly narration is so good. elishva having a de lacey esque role is so interesting and good im so excited
