How long is long enough before saying “I love you”?

There are those who take the world at face value, keep the computers putin’, and don’t know to feel otherwise. The other type of person in this world has seen something wicked and the rest of their life is spent reconciling that vision against their existence.

I'd rather be the only one saying "I love you" than not feeling it at all.

It's OK to say "I love you" if you mean it, but even better if you don't want anything in return.

I didn't say those words to her again. They'd been said and didn't need to be repeated. I was sure of how I felt, so I just lived it. I was on my own timeline.

There's nothing more negligent than a false representation of love.

It's comfortable to bring up old failures if you've conquered them.

She was familiar, but it wasn't something physical or regional or cultural that was familiar. It was something deeply intimate and human.

Bad posture was her essence. In all her photos she slunk like a snake luring you in, a drunken master creeping onto a new town, a wayward samurai descending on another warlord. She was looking for something.

She had low-slung green eyes that stayed in front of you like John Starks. For the record, that's attractive to a Knick fan.

It’s important not to be rejected but equally important to know it’s real. There’s nothing more negligent than a false representation of love.

I’m an emotional thot trapping people with false closeness. It’s easy to talk about embarrassing moments if they don’t matter to you. It’s comfortable to bring up old failures if you’ve conquered them. It is nearly impossible to be confident and vulnerable when it pertains to the existential meaning of your life. Especially when you don’t know what it looks like.

Vulnerability isn’t something you know to ask for until you’ve been vulnerable yourself. You have to love something enough to be honest and risk yourself to it.
