I remembered why I couldn't finish this last time. It was mainly due to the horrible formatting of all the ebook versions I found online. It's even worse in a Kindle so I will have to put this on hold.

A mathematician David Hilbert from Germany sends a letter to Cambridge (where Hardy taught) pointing out that Hardy should have one of the best rooms (Hardy wasn’t given a well set room).
“So Hardy, like Russel and many of the high Cambridge intelligentsia did not believe that war (ww2) should have been fought, he thought the balance of wrong was on the English side.”
