As I figured, not much of an ending. We were only getting started when the power got plugged. What I got was good - there was just far too little of it.

I can tell things got cut short: we're almost at the end and so much is still unrevealed. I don't suspect we can manage any kind of a meaningful resolution in this final issue, but we'll see. You never know.
Shame either way - it's been a good run.

I only knew Turpin from the Superman series. It was a welcome surprise to see him here, and all the more so to learn he kicked ass even at the beginning.

I got the impression Orion would've been younger when the swap was made.
The error Darkseid made, probably, was go too hard on Scott Free. Should've just raised him like he raised Kalibak. And told Metron to piss off.

Possibly my favourite issue so far. Some good if basic moral quandaries and Lightray gets a spot to shine.

A great bit of humanizing moment for Orion. He might want to learn to get by without the Mother Box, though, in this instance.

There seems to have been some debate over who is the true manifestation of Death in the setting and who is merely an aspect of them. Black Racer has the seniority over Death of the Endless, but... I can't say I like his fashion sense.

Hard to believe Darkseid premiered in a Jimmy Olsen comic of all things. He doesn't exactly carry the same aura and presence as he would in later depictions... but he's not entirely absent of the stuff either. He's off to a good start.

As far as prophecies are concerned, this is one of the most vague I can recall. Have to wonder whether it'll be one of the fancy self-fulfilling ones. Orion sure seems hot-headed enough to go right into it.
That aside, the premise is intriguing and art more than passable. Pretty basic sixties-seventies style but nice designs.
