I liked the idea of architecture as "the first, essential human art". Also, this stuff about Cubism:
"So when Picasso removes life from the object, he kills the emotion. The Impressionists did the same thing with light. They killed it by dissecting it into its spectral parts. This scientific analysis is necessary for renewal but should not be an end in itself." (173)

Despite the reasoning behind it being a bunch of bullroar, I like the idea of calling criticism/critics instead "measurement"/"measurer".
