Great analysis about the nature of Hinduism vs the Hindutva nationalist movement. Hinduism doesn’t have exact fundamentals or axioms, exactly, so how could it support Hindutva fundamentals? I think the arguments for being Hindu become stronger as the author talks about the origin, but the criticisms of what it has become calls us to re examine our relationship with the religion.
