So excited for my eldest girl to get to enjoy this and chat about it this term!!

This book makes me so happily verklempt.

I am deeply amused with Gene Stratton Porter's writing. I wish I had noted passages earlier as her descriptors, while antiquated, are evocative and sometimes laugh out loud funny (to me.) She describes nature, both human and animal, with deep understanding.
