Status Updates From Biomecânica Básica (Portugu...

To describe position and movement we start from the anatomical reference position.
To describe position in relationship to the body(parts) we use directional terms: superior, inferior, proximal, distal, anterior posterior, medial, lateral, superficial and deep
To describe movement we use 3 cardinal planes: saggital, frontal and transverse
To describe rotationer use 3 axes: frontal, sagital and longitudinal/vertical

Global motion is a combination of linear motion (translation of the whole body in a straight or curved line; rectilinear or curvilinear) and angular motion (rotation)

So basically a lot of professions come in contact with biomechanics to solve problems. Here she talks about the differences in qualitative (precise descriptions usually informal) and quantitative (numbers usually formal) problem solving.

Biomechanics is the study of movement due to forces (kinetics) and structure (kinematics) on living things.
Its a branch of kinesiology and comes in handy for various different reasons such as: sports, work related movements, posture, clothing and gear for various sports...
