Review for _The Story of Tomoda and Matsunaga_ by Juni'chi'ro Tanizaki
I would give this 4 stars
I loved the story and the themes of culture, westernization, and yearning for two polar opposites
Content and what I do not like:
Sexualization of women which I find common in Japanese Literature, drinking/debauchery

“Her vagina was the first part of her mother’s body that turned to sugar - probably because it was the organ for which her mother no longer had any use.”
