3.5 stars. I find the core story fascinating, but the writer gets in his own way by including far too much commentary on his/his daughter's thoughts and process, and there is overuse of I/we/you. Perhaps this is in an attempt to write conversationally, but I find the frequency of these stylistic choices instead undermine aspects of the narrative.
