started off a bit shaky but one or two amusing moments so far

I know so little about wwii in such specificity of location, nor have I read much war fiction, but I've not faced a hindrance to enjoying this book so far. That this is Burgess' first novel that he had written (but not first published) proves that life isn't fair.

Discovered there's a notes section. This book is truly accessible reading, or for the lazy.
