Status Updates From Chihayafuru, Vol. 9

Ch. 52 completed
Barely anyone joins the Karuta club. We learn how vain the new girl is. Other new member is probably a weirdo

Ch. 51 completed
Chihaya can't for some reason understand that other people view karuta
differently. Karuta club ends up training. Taichi goes to the club to train for
A class. New girl sees Taichi and wants to get closer and worried that she's
gonna get rejected.

Ch. 50 completed
A bunch of girls come over to check out the Karuta club clearly interested in Taichi and not Karuta. Kana lays down the hammer. They explain what Karuta is, demonstrate it, and tell them they expect them to memorize it in a week which will probably scare most people off. That character that got dumped asks if Taichi has a girlfriend. Chihaya continues to learn people don't like karuta like she does

Ch. 49 completed
The Karuta club needs 5 new members to survive for their current building. Their budget was increased. A new character (that is likely to go after Taichi) appears because she got dumped at entrance ceremony. Kana confesses to Chihaya she wants to become a professional Karuta reciter and realizes it's going to be difficult because she has to be in A class. Kana is also happy about the budget increase.

Ch. 48
Master match is going on. Basically a whole anime moment with being able to hear 1 syllable cards that don't actually exist. It's just "feeling". Current master dominates the match and wins. Tsukue tells Chihaya he thinks she has 20 of those. Taichi is disheartened and wonders how he's supposed to actually get to that level. Arata is practicing, calls Taichi, and also gets offered to play by his neighbor.
