Status Updates From The Beach House (San Capist...

This feels like a summary of another book, not detailed enough and dry. I'm only 20ish pages in and characters met, went on a couple of dates and want to meet each others parents. It's too fast (but not insta-lovey thank god!) Where are my descriptions and thoughts? Where is build up?
Also characters described in present time like "Alex sees... Ben goes..." etc which is hard to read for me personally.
