Found book 1 at our local library. It reveals how the two main characters, 16-year-olds, Naia and Alaric, find out about each other when Alaric touched an object called a Victorian Shade - (1900s) a glass bell-shaped cover that was put over a piece of art or an object that the owner wanted to protect and display in their parlor or drawing room - in his Victorian home in London. Both lives so similar, yet different.
