Status Updates From Prodigal Prophet

Keller is starting to lose me when he’s insisting Jonah is about social reform. I think the emphasis is perhaps respectable, but too strong.

Learning how the story of Jonah relates to God’s Word and to God’s world. I learned about the repeated theme of substitutionary love throughout Jonah and the NT. I also got part way through how the story of Jonah calls us to love our neighbor—an imperative of Jesus.

I don’t think I’ve ever read 100+ pages in one single sitting…wow. Granted, these pages are tiny and there is a considerable margin that borders the text…but STILL! Keller is DIVING into Jonah and teaching me A LOT of truths that are hidden in this compelling book of the Bible.

Great intro
