History as it should be written, in speaking so the reader wants to read more about the history, contexts, and vagaries of the period---as happens with many histories I dabble in set in the 1800s. An argument of populism as representing immigration waves and making the country more representative and less whitewashed; and an argument of it having such potential today. Introduction. This author seems biased in some ways about the founders, but also gets it right with their intentions and intuition for a proper balance for the conditions to support freedom best, the balance between republicanism and populism, the system of the rule of law to ensure the whims of popular opinion aren't harmful overall as counterproductive and trust to ensure such freedom. His characterisations shine.
