Just finished the first section which contains Oates’s newer stories, and I’m honestly blown away. This is my first experience with her work and I find her writing to be so exciting, so dynamic. It just feels alive. Looking forward to reading her ‘60s short stories next.

I got my copy from thrift books and the og owner was using an airborne coupon that expired in 2008 as a bookmark, which is so fun. They did not finish the book or maybe they had a favorite story…idk the coupon fell out and idk where it was living for the past 16 years.

This seems to be a collection of horror short stories, didn’t know. interesting so far!
