What I loved so much about Watchmen from a storytelling perspective was the detective aspect of the story with Rorschach. It unexpectedly steered the story away from the action packed “WHAM!” and “POW!” expected in comics, and led the reader to discover the flawed and fascinating lives of these so called “hero’s.”
Nixon-era geopolitics was a fascinating backdrop.
