Unfunny hijinks with mistaken corpses now, trying to circle back to some stuff from 750 pages ago when the novel was good and was getting five stars from me but has spectacularly flamed out in crash-and-burn heap in a way I have never experienced in 60 years of reading.

One of the more famous quotes from the book on p. 749, but the thematic point was already made on page 2. I want to slow down a little on this so I can bring in Finnegans Wake at roughly the same time and post the reviews at the same time. Hint, I'm loving Finnegan. I want to have a contrast.
