For the most part these errors arise from thoughtlessness rather than miseducation. For example: A letter begins by “acknowledging” a report received weeks earlier, formal acknowledgement having already been made. A Municipal Council is “reminded” of an opinion not previously communicated to it, or has something obvious “explained” to it, or has something not obvious introduced to it with the phrase “of course”.
