I guess getting to that want-to-smack-Alexis’s-characters-across-the-head-while-hugging-them-at-the-same-time state because you understand why they’re doing what they’re doing, but also know (and they kinda know too) that they shouldn’t be doing those things, even though they have good reason to feel the way they do... only for it to hurt them like hell anyway... is a rite of passage in most Alexis’s books.

Guys I have a problem I have read way to many books in the last 48 hours

There is a reason why I don't usually read Alexis's work one right after the other (except when part of a series). It is because I don't want to lose that feeling of wonder that I usually get when I pick up one of their books.

I'm still in the foreword and I have already smiled broadly, laughed out loud, gone awww, and teared up. In the FOREWORD!!!! I love this feeling so much. It's like coming home 🥹
