Main character laments the loss of the days you can be sexist in football.

What is this author's problem? I know most of the times we have to seperate the author from main character narrator, but this is clearly an author's issue being projected on to the character for us all to read.

Scott Manson - cheats on his girlfriend, asks a male player if he's come off the pitch because he's on his period, implied the complaints of sexism are just women's meaningless opinions (and female fans of football just don't exist apparently), and then later on further dismisses the complaints about sexism in football as coming from nagging harpies. But sure, i'll finish the book.
