I start to feel ashamed of what
I’ve just done, but for now the pleasure of revenge is uppermost in my mind
(later, shame will be all that’s left).

But I wanted to look. Because I was the one who had started the fight
between my brother and my father. I’d done it on purpose. It was my
revenge.

(I speak of you in the past tense because I don’t know you anymore. The present tense would be a lie.)
