I'm really starting to understand the concept of "dark intelligence" with this book - they'll say things like 'be kind to prisoners of war', 'avoid unnecessary enemy casualties', etc etc not because it's nice and humane but because it APPEARS so and makes it easier to deceive/control them later...

kind of chilling to think about some of this like "irl", like bro goes "you march x miles in x conditions and you'll lose y% of your men" and "around nighttime is when soldiers begin missing their families" like... sometimes you gotta give orders to these people KNOWING they will probably die (sure its war so that's a given but still)
