I think I will have to revisit this book a few times more because it is just so packed with information regarding Wagner's inventions and techniques that you can't possible learn and remember everything from just one read-through.

OK so this really IS focusing on Wagner's music and not his life. After the other works by Greenberg having been biographies detailing each composer's work, this is ... weird? Especially considering this book's length? Then again, Wagner composed ... A LOT. *lol*
The first big work of Wagner's discussed here is he Flying Dutchman. Interesting, all the things the guy practically invented!
