¿Se reduce la moral a contar vidas y echar el balance de costes y beneficios, o hay deberes morales y derechos humanos tan fundamentales que sobrepasan tales cálculos? Y si hay derechos así de fundamentales -sean naturales, sagrados, inalienables o categoricos- ¿Cómo sabemos cuáles son y qué les hace ser fundamentales?
