The most interesting parts happened in the first 100 pages. Now it's more of a slog. I'm skimming whole paragraphs that are just super detailed explanations of quantum science that do nothing to move the plot forward. Also a lot of detailed descriptions of the area and running from one place to another. A lot of Mao, Deng, Marxism, the CCP, and making the American seem smart in a niche way but dumb otherwise.

It turns out this book really isn’t all that interesting . The characters seem kind of flat and the spy thriller story isn’t well developed. The author seems to say too much without saying anything important. I skimmed through the last 2/3rds of the book.

Still, the moon part was interesting and inspiring.
