Status Updates From Den brutna kvinnan

Reflections, echoes, reverberating back and back to infinity: I have discovered the pleasure of having a long past behind me... I catch sight of it just as rocks or sand show through the shifting brilliance of the sea. Once I used to cherish schemes and promises for the future; now my feelings and my joys are smoothed and softened with the shadowy velvet of time past.

Existentialism makes me purr. Some gorgeously written passages that truly encapsulate my own experience of being, as Vonnegut said, “unstuck in time,” and have me thinking about forgiveness as an Existentialist value.

Finished the first part! This story was so good I can’t believe I haven’t read it sooner lolll

The writer brilliantly describes an old woman’s day and monologues, as her beloved son took a 360 career turn, rejecting the noble idea of knowledge pursuit, and her husband’s love as they quarrelled.

NOOOO MY HIGHLIGHTER DRIED OUT!! 😭😭😭

On another note though, I am enjoying this book! It might be a 4 or 5 star read!
