My annual reread of my favorite Revolutionary War novels is underway! They're all classic YA fiction.

This book is just so awesome! I've been so excited to read it again and be back with these wonderful main characters. I'm enjoying it as much as ever.

This is my fourth time reading it in the 5 years since I discovered it, and it never gets old, even though I have it practically memorized now.

Such a satisfying, perfect ending to an equally satisfying, supremely enjoyable book. I will never tire of rereading it as frequently as I can, and I always want to read it again as soon as I'm done - or sooner.

This is one of my top favorite books for good reason - I love it every time.

But he sat looking at her . . . for a moment without stirring. "I begin to think . . . that if the Ransomes had chosen peace and good order over freedom, the King's arms would stand a better chance of winning this war."

I love Rebecca and her family, and their fierce fight, and I love that this other character recognized it at last. :)))

I've been laughing so much at the witty narration, clever banter, and hilarious, entertaining escapades throughout the book.

But what I love more than that is how it alternates with such serious, eye-opening reality--the gritty and severe reality of war, and the experience of the soldiers and civilians involved. I've gone from laughing to feeling the enormity of it--and Rebecca's emotions.

It's amazingly powerful.

I keep laughing in delight and amusement at the lovely wit and humor sprinkled frequently throughout this book. :))) I'm noticing it more now than I think I have in the past, and I'm enjoying it--and the general cleverness and intelligence, and literally everything else--so very, very much.

So many things to love. <3

And one of my favorite characters hasn't even been introduced yet! Can't wait for that. :D

So continues my consecutive Revolutionary War reread! I just finished--and loved--Johnny Tremain, but I love this one even more. They're similar in some ways, and anyone who loves Johnny Tremain will love this one, too--a must-read!

I adore this book, and since I discovered it just a few years ago, I've been compelled to read it several times--and I'm always dying to read it again once I'm only halfway through. <3

No, I just couldn't stay away, could I? Badly done, Zane, badly done. :P

On another note, my copy is completely falling apart. I may try to rebind it...

*happy, contented sigh* THAT was a good book!! You know a book is good when you don't want it to end - and want to reread it straight through yet again before it's even over. :) But what a lovely ending!!
