Status Updates From The First Fear (The Empower...

I like the world building so far, but the prose is a little wanting. The writing has a very YA/MG feel to me, which is not how this book is advertised.

Finally getting into this one... I've made a few false starts on it, but this time I'm ready to give it a go! There are a few formatting problems on my Kindle copy, but the story's good so far.

At about half-way through, I'm finding this enjoyable.
Interesting fantasy story.
Magic system and combinations of weaponry are slightly different from other fantasies I've read. Hoping this picture becomes clearer by the end of the book.
Moving very quickly at this point. At times, I wish I could get a little deeper into the scene before it's on to the next.
Switches between characters are sometimes jarring.

Liking the story, even though there are a LOT of grammatical and spelling errors in my version.
