No question, the writing is good. Someone mentioned RL Smith vibes. I agree! The narrative gives the reader unexpected moments of humor and I liked the story, overall. The sister is kind of an evil b----. Regardless, I was kind of reading this and enjoying it, life got busy, and I've forgotten what it was about. Was going to DNF it but now that I'm thinking about it, might try to finish it.
