this edition has the ideal translation for me, since it's not too governed by the need to try and maintain the original rhythm or metric: it's main concern is with readability, with full comprehension. and the footnotes are just what's actually needed for context, not a dumbing-down of the text for the reader

so far it's good! (more name dropping than tahani al-jamil though)
