Ugh… so many things going on, it’s truly saddening when you think about it… The fact that all of this really happened. It sickens me that, in so many countries, women still pay the price for decisions made by evil men.

I just started the book but I can already say that it’ll surely be a very interesting one. The historical context with Jeju’s island and its people history is fascinating and the fact that it’s related to the ocean gives a spiritual dimension to the book which I appreciate a lot and rarely find in other books.
