Status Updates From Ma chi è quella ragazza?

I think sometimes, shit things in life can’t be learned from, they just “are”. You have to live around them and with them. No one admits it, because it doesn’t sound inspiring if you put it over a picture of a sunset.

She didn’t just want to sneak past this birthday because she was a social pariah. With her nearest and dearest, she also feared letting go. Becoming hopelessly morose-pissed and weepy and ending up that middle-aged woman in the corner, lamenting her lost youth.

“Pretty much the worst thing that could’ve happened to you has already happened to you and you’re still here and you’re OK. That makes you very strong. That is powerful.”

Edith is quite annoying. There is absolutely no reason for her to meet with Jack. Also, in the section of the book where Margot dies, Edith says the emergency response vehicles and personnel remind her of when her mom died next door, but didn't they only move into that house after her dad lost his job?

Edith is a freaking doormat. She may have had a crush on this dude, but HE accosted HER at HIS wedding. She acts like she actually did something wrong. Also, her being willing to roll over and give up her job that she likes and at which she is clearly good is REALLY dumb. Even her not going to Richard with that stupid petition. I hate when the main character has no gumption.

Honestly, really enjoying this one.
