Such an in depth complicated story. Jumps around a lot, and there are so many pieces. Still hard to follow and I feel a lot of the side stories are probably quite important in the world building and history, but it’s very hard to keep track of. I do like the way the characters speak and share stories.

Conflicting feelings. Rich world building and depth, but I find it hard to get over the violence, the intense focus on male sexuality, and the density of the text itself.

This is an intense book to read and try to absorb. So many stories that I suspect connect in a way I’m having a hard time following. But a mythical adventure and mystery to be sure. Really enjoying the African mythology/fairytale.
