It really hurts to listen to the chapter "Life Inside The Liberal" as the author talks about how its more tribal, racial, & power-by-war era was the belief that yeah, Americans are human too, but we (the other world powers) can generally trust that they (& the president they elect) aren't likely to get *too* adventurous & flip the boat on us all if they get to act as Captain. Oof 😣

Next chapter - US solved communism in the Soviet Union. US involvement in Vietnam was aggressive but still good. Liberal world order is good, and strong US is the best and only way to do that

Okay here's what we've got. Capitalism and democracy is the garden. And communism is anti-democracy, so it's the jungle. And the US must protect the garden from the jungle because it is a strong democracy
