Sighing, I paused when a shout echoed down the street. "Fuck me, Thunder Hunter, your date looks sexy as fuck. Who is she? Can I fuck her?"

"No, you fucking well can't!" Chloe snapped as I was about to open my mouth.
Smiling to myself, I waited as my friend approached. He was squinting in the dark, looking at Chloe's face. His mouth dropped open as he came to a stop in front of her.
"Well, f…shit me, it's you."

"Okay, but you're not picking your own dress. I'm sure I've got something lying around."
Chloe's laughter travelled around the room.
"What's so funny?" I asked, affronted that she had scorned my kindness in letting her come.
"I just had an image of you in a little black dress, that's all."
Curling my lip, I went towards the door. I glanced over my shoulder. "Trust me, I look sexy as hell in a little black dress."

"And you…are a bloody woman."
Clearing my throat, I widened my eyes at my friend. It wasn't polite to swear in front of women. Especially not women like Chloe. She wasn't anything like the women we're used to.
"I'm sorry, you're a bleeping woman!"
"Last time I checked, I was a woman."
"Oh, yeah? When did you last check? Did you use a mirror or your fingers?"
Shooting forward, I slapped Jack's head. "Don't," I warned.

Trygger has 'long ago turned away from the light to the darkness', he surrounds himself with the darkness of the underworld. Chloe's light is too pure and bright for him.
I'm getting serious Carpathian vibes from this whole set up (from Christine Feehan's Dark series). And I'm none too pleased about that, either.

302 pages? Maybe I only have the first half, because it's only coming up 115 pages on my Google Play copy...
Not bad, and while there's a solid focus on Trygger's mission, I'm seeing what I'm pretty sure is a huge set-up to get the cold-hearted dark 1000-year-old Viking warrior to experience real love for the first time in his long life.
And, there is an overabundance of commas like the one I just used and in general

Hmm, just been introduced to Jack, a free-wheeling bisexual, who might just save this book for me! Because sex-obsessed Trygger and small feet Chloe are not really my cuppa tea so far.

Couldn’t finish it. Didn’t relate to the characters at all. Writing style was jumpy and disconnected.

I for real don't want to finish this.

Could ever make yourself like a 'hero' who regularly has sex with women he kills once he's done with them, who goes into having sex knowing he plans to kill them, who has been doing this for a millennia?

AND do you think those women, knowing that he plans to kill them, would have sex with him willingly or would it have to be rape?

yeah...so, I'm not enjoying this.

Welp, so far the main character just seems like an asshole and I'm not so fond of the authors way of painting women, through his eyes, as useless unless in his bed.
