Status Updates From The Spirit of the Liturgy

“It may well be that kneeling is alien to modern culture—insofar as it is a culture, for this culture has turned away from the faith and no longer knows the One before whom kneeling is the right… [and] necessary gesture… [A] faith or a liturgy no longer familiar with kneeling would be sick at the core.”

“A return to apparent cultural poverty [the restriction of permitted music in the liturgy in response to Gnosticism] saved the identity of biblical faith, and the very rejection of false inculturation opened up the cultural breadth of Christianity for the future.”

Words that could be applicable to elevate the state of liturgical music today.
