Status Updates From In the Beauty of Lillies

100 pages in and I am still struggling. I'm skimming parts and find myself drawn into picking up a different book. I'll give this another couple of days.

I don't know if I've ever read anything else by this esteemed author. Maybe one of his short stories from the BASS anthologies I love to read. So far, this does not look promising as a book I will stick with. The descriptions feel pretentious. I'll give it some more pages before I make a judgment. I may put it down to move on to something else and return later.
