DNF after MMC is telling FMC, after she overheard something, about how men like him, them, live on the edge and need to let out of steam. This is done in clubs that have blah, blah, blah, then he mentions how once he and his partner's proclivities got out of hand and Doc, who was at the club, too, had to patch her up. Unnecessary. I'm done.

FMC informs them she goes by Angel (a common nickname for Angela). Coop and Doc share a look, both thinking it sounds like a stripper's name. Even stupider, Coop imagines her in an appropriate outfit, complete with a g-string. Mind you, this is an injured woman, alone with four strange men, with known bruises INSIDE her thighs, suggesting she was raped or there was an attempt to do so. Wow.

Okay so this one starts off with a bang - literally! Really enjoying this new to me author, particularly her careful examination of the after effects of traumatic events - something that is often glossed over in romance, and her portrayal of realistic characters dealing with PTSD. Plus it's a great love story. Just saying...

“And yes, his own temperament when treating patience was often misconstrued as brusque.” This talking about a doctor who sees patients. :/
