This was interesting but the writing is so bad and does not flow at all and it’s really bothering me! As someone who is writing a senior thesis trying to make it flow and talk all in the past tense this doesn’t have either.

This book does not have good transitions but it’s still an interesting history!

School book with a lot of words I don’t know how to pronounce. But definitely interesting.

Det är ett tecken på historieämnets förfall att mer sidutrymme har ägnats åt 1) hur Zenobias avföring hanterades, 2) huruvida Zenobias slavar (hu! tänka sig att en antik furstinna hade slavar!) var enucker eller inte, och om detta var romersk propaganda för att "symboliskt kastrera" Palmyinerna, och 3) huruvida Zenobia bar huvudduk, och i så fall i vilken vikning; än åt Palmyras politiska läge eller konst.

I really am trying to read this book, but it is like pulling teeth. I especially hate every time the author says some variation of "We'll see how this applies to/affects Zenobia later." I realize that the author is working with very little evidence, but it is annoying.
