Status Updates From The Lost Father

While enjoyable and engaging, as a fan of Anywhere But Here, the inconsistent timelines bother me somewhat. In her first novel, her mother and her move to California while she’s still young, 12 I believe. In The Lost Father, she inexplicably remembers “Stevie” (a character, among many others, that did not exist in the first novel) hiding under her bed at her grandmothers in Wisconsin while they were teenagers.
