Brandon is terrible but also I'm invested, idk this is the second Kathleen Woodiwiss book I've read and I enjoy her writing style.

There is so much to unpack that I will probably forget some things in my final review. But some things I'm seeing repeatedly:
1. The heroine isn't worth anything unless she's beautiful.
2. This was the origins of the miscommunication trope.
3. Internalized misogy definitely played a heavy role in the '70s. Female characters automatically hated each other just to get the mirror tension of a man.
