Nie mogę się oderwać 😮‍💨

“How pointless. Why should I care about my parents and what they did, when we’re cut off in this subterranean world? There no use going over all that now.”

Could I finish this book tonight? Yes…Am I saving the last 9% for tomorrow to stretch it out and make it last longer?….also yes. ITS SO GOOD.

“Maybe I wasn't up to the task.
Maybe it would be better to seek the help of the authorities. But for this extraordinary fiend, there could be no justice under our country's legal system, only more ancient laws: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. He had to taste that same pain he'd inflicted on others, then my ire would be pacified.”

ej nie sądziłam po początku, że tak będzie, ale mega wkręciłam się w tą książkę

“I could see there was a more prosaic reason for him loathing, his father, the details of which were so dreadful and repellent. They went beyond me, criminal acts. Devilish deeds, not of a man, but a beast; not of this world, but the inferno beneath us.”

“Recently I've started to feel, since 'they' hate me so much, then I'll hate them right back. And in my mind, regular humans, shaped differently to me, are the real freaks. So that's what I'll call them.”

This just took such a turn HELLO.

“He appeared virtuous on the surface, but underneath there lurked in an unfathomable wickedness. An unearthly atmosphere seemed to hover about him like a heat haze. And now the sudden transformation into an amateur detective; I knew I couldn’t trust everything he said.”

“When people feel emotional pain too in-tensely, rather than tears, their face often breaks out into a queer smile. The same is true of grief. When it is too much to bear, mourners neglect to weep or even have the strength to feel sorrow. Eventually, after some days have passed, their grief takes on its true form.”

Small start tonight after finishing headlights, i’m so ready for the queer elements i know are in this book 🌈🖤
