I'm shocked by how good this book is. My husband & I had watched an interview with Gary Sinise & People magazine about him losing his son. I knew NOTHING about him other his role in Forrest Gump. A quick Google search led to the discovery of a very amazing man and this book.

My husband started reading the book & kept saying how good it was. I decided to read it & keep finding myself saying out loud this is so good.

This book has had me in tears many times. As a veteran, reading this and knowing that there are still people with this level of gratitude for military service members has gotten me very emotional.

I’m already tearing up at some of this. As a veteran, some of it is hitting pretty hard since it seems like the military doesn’t have a lot of public support.
