Gen 49: Jacob was very weird with his blessings. Idk I haven’t read the Old Testament in so long. As a kid all of this just seemed like it was normal or how it should be. But honestly Jacob does not seem like a holy or like godly man. From the beginning he was stealing from his own brother lying to him and then wishing poor things on his own sons. Idk man.

Gen 48: dang I wonder what’s going on with all the second born stuff. Jacob choosing to bless the second born more is interesting

Gen 47: I kinda don’t like how Joseph accepted peoples land and accepted them into servitude

Gen 46: it’s so good seeing Jacob and Joseph reunite. Joseph is a good guy

Gen 44-45: bro I know it was killing Joseph not telling them. But the outlook he had on life to not hate his brothers and thank god for allowing him to save people is great

Gen 42-43: I really loved how in these chapters Joseph first wants to confirm they didn’t kill his other brother. And then see if these are good and honorable man. He is giving them an opportunity to make up for their sins. Very cool stories.

Gen 41: very cool how by giving credit to god in everything that Joseph has done he has continued to gain benefits and favor everywhere he goes. He became the second most important person in Egypt that’s nuts

Gen 40: the cup bearer and the baker is an interesting story. Nice to finally be getting stuff like I remember and not just lineage in the bible.

Gen 39: Dang man Joseph is surrounded by evil people. Everywhere he goes he is being lied on and done so horribly. But everywhere he goes he is loved by most. It stinks

Gen 38: lowkey didn’t follow really what this story was trying to say Or do. But basically this dude banged his sisters wife god told him to give her a son. Instead he pulled out so he died. Then the widower was basically a prostitute to a powerful man

Gen 37: damn as an adult I understand why everyone was tripping over Joseph’s dreams. That’s wild to say. But to plot to kill your brother or sell him into slavery that’s just wrong. Jacob was a bad father for openly saying he loves some people more than others. But I feel for him while he is like mourning it’s sad.

Gen 36: this chapter is just Esau’s lineage and stuff

Gen 35: so Jacob is now Israel. And his poor wife died aw. He is now going to inherit Abraham and Isaac’s blessing and he has 12 sons. But his favorite I’m going to assume is Joseph because it was Rachel’s first born.

Gen 35: damn poor girl got raped. To marry her Everton on their village got circumsized that’s love

Gen 32-33: ok. So ur telling me Jacob is shady with essau from the beginning. Steals his blessing. Steals his birthright. Then he is named Israel?? Sooo soo ok. And then ur telling me he goes to see his brother to live on his land. And is terrified his brother is going to attack him. Bro Jacob is the shadiest man of all time and like idk essau was a great man it’s just kinda crazy. He loved his brother.

Gen 31: dang so Jacob wants to go home. Rachel steals her father’s gods. And so Laban hunts them down. And Jacob swears to him they stole nothing. Rachel is the downfall of Jacob man.

Gen 30: dang Jacob had so many siblings. But one thing I noticed is finally at the end Rachel gives birth to Joseph. I remember reading about Joseph and the multi colored coat as a kid but never knowing why his brother hated him. If this leads to Jacob ignoring all other sons and loving Joseph by far the most. I understand that story so much better. Fundamentally

Gen 28: Jacob is getting so many blessings. And it seems like he is about to build a church

Gen 27: ok so Jacob legit snaked Esau out of his birthright and his blessings. In my eyes Jacob and Rebecca are evil lowkey.

Gen 26: so basically everyone is cool with Issac and he is getting blessed up everywhere. Sweet
