Status Updates From Just Jaime

SUMMARY:On the last day of seventh grade, Jaime faces exclusion from her toxic friend group. Jaime’s friend group, led by the popular and mean girl Celia, turns against her. Maya struggles with her decision to join the "cool" group, realizing Celia is cruel, while Jaime deals with the pain of abandonment but finds a new, healthier friend group. Both girls learn lessons about themselves.

CONFLICT:Exclusion on the last day of seventh grade, Jaime is being bullied by her popular friend group led by a girl named Celia who feels Jaime is too babyish and doesn't fit in anymore. Jaime’s best friend Maya is pressured to join in on this exclusion and forces both characters to grow apart. Through this, Jaime realizes her own flaws and that her last friend group was toxic.
